Chapter 1: Kurt Hummel Returns..

Mr. Schuester surprises everyone. When Kurt walks in, everyone gasps. Leading Mercedes to run to Kurt and hug him. "I missed you so much, Mercedes" Kurt said. "I missed you too..." Mercedes replied. When they stop hugging, Rachel walks slowly to Kurt, giving Kurt a hug. Kurt walks to the chair next to Finn and Artie and they both give him high fives. "We're so glad to have you back, Kurt." Mr. Schuester said. Kurt smiled. "Thanks, Mr. Schue" He said. Rachel tries looking at Finn but avoids not to. Finn tries to look at Rachel but he looks down, feeling guilty for what he has done, so Finn looks at Santana and smiles
. 
Mercedes looks at Sam and smiles. Sam looks at Mercedes, then winks. Quinn looks at Puck and winks, Puck does the same. Artie and Brittany hold hands, when Tina looks at Artie. "OK, guys. We have a lot to do. We need to do some more DUETS!" Everyone says "Yes!"
"So that means we have a 2nd duet competition and whoever wins the competion will get 2 solos to perform at Regionals!" Rachel's mouth was wide open. She couldn't think of who she wanted to sing with. Mr. Schuester reads the list of duets he wants. "OK. Sam, you will be working with Mercedes." Mercedes and Sam look at each other and smile but Quinn doesn't like it. "Then, Finn, I want you to work with Santana." Rachel rolls her eyes. Finn and Santana smile at each other. 


"Quinn you will be working with Kurt."  Kurt and Quinn smile. "Wow. I never sang  a song with Quinn before." Kurt said. "Really? Well, you're just a lucky person then, huh?" Mr. Schue said. "Lauren, I want you to work with Tina. Brittany, you will be working with Puck. Mike you will sing with Artie." Artie looked at Mike and gave a suspicious look.  Lauren looks at Tina without an expression. 
"OK. Now since we got that out of the way, now let's --" Rachel interrupts. "Excuse me, Mr. Schue, but what about me? Who will I sing with?" Mercedes comes in the conversation. "Yourself?". Everyone laughs. Rachel looks down. 


Meanwhile, the school bell rings, Kurt walks in the hall, takes a deep breath and opens his locker. Then Karofsky comes. He whispers in Kurt's ear. "Welcome back, baby." Karofsky said. He smiles and walks away. Kurt gives an suspicious look. Finn walks to Kurt. "You OK? Did he do anything?" Finn said. "No, he just said welcome back. I'm fine.  Thanks." Kurt said. "No problem, you're my stepbro. Remember I said I got your back." He said. Finn pats his back and walks away. Kurt smiles and puts the rest of his stuff back. Then gets a text message from Blaine. It said.
"I hope you're welcome once again in New Directions. I miss you very much. But that's the way things go. Meet me outside after school. I'll take you out for lunch and maybe a movie." -Blaine.
Kurt smiles and walks down the hall.

Chapter 2: Attraction to The Wrong Guy

At lunch, Karofsky's eyes look deeply at Kurt leading him to flashback on the time they kissed. Then imagines kissing him again. Kurt looks straight in his face and Karofsky waves at him. Kurt sarcastically waves back while sitting next to Mercedes, Artie, Tina and Mike. "Why did he wave at you like that?" Mercedes asked. "Oh, I don't know. He just waved." Kurt said.   Mercedes watches Sam walk past with a sexual expression. "Um, 'Cedes. I hope you know that Sam already has a girlfriend, and you don't want to do what happened last year with you and Santana fighting over Puck." Artie said. "So. I don't care. It's just I have a crush on him." Mercedes said. "Well, why don't you just look for someone single? You know like, um.." Tina said. 'Forget it. No one really appreciates my feelings for love, I never have been loved, ok. I've been used for my popularity by Puck, I fell for a guy that I thought I would have dated, but no.. So I had to bust the windows out of his car!" Mercedes said. "I'm out." She departs and sits in a empty chair and looks down. 
Sam sits next to her. Mercedes cries and puts her head down on the table. "What's wrong? Why are you crying?" Sam said. "No one appreciates me in this school. I'm just used for my talent. No one loves me." Mercedes said. "What are you talking about? Everyone loves you." He takes a deep breath. "Even I do." He said. Mercedes looks up and gives suspicious look. "What? You can't love me. You're with Quinn." She said. "Not as a LOVER a friend." Sam said. "Oh please, when was the last time you ever became friends with me?" Mercedes asked. Sam grabs a tissue from his pocket and wipes her tears off her face. I'm sorry. I was just paying more attention to everyone else. But believe me, I did want to be your friend. Best friend.' Kurt, Artie, Tina and Mike walk to Mercedes and Sam. "Is everything OK?" Kurt asked.  "Yeah. We're fine." Sam said. "Mercedes, I'm sorry, I didn't know you felt that way about love" Artie said. "It's OK. I went too far anyway. All because I looked at you. Sam." Mercedes said. Sam looks at Mercedes, "Looking at me? How?" Sam said. Mercedes tried to say it but she stops. "Never mind." "No, tell me." Sam said. Mercedes takes a deep breath. "When Mr. Schue was talking about duets and when you walked past, I checked you out. I...I have a crush on you, Sam. And I'm scared that if you say "No, you're fat and ugly" I would feel down." Mercedes said. "Aww.. Mercedes. You're not fat and ugly. That would never come out of my mouth. I mean to me, I think you're pretty cute." Mercedes smiles. "Thanks." She blushes. She walks away to go to the hall because lunch was over.

"No, tell me." Sam said. Mercedes takes a deep breath. "When Mr. Schue was talking about duets and when you walked past, I checked you out. I...I have a crush on you, Sam. And I'm scared that if you say "No, you're fat and ugly" I would feel down." Mercedes said. "Aww.. Mercedes. You're not fat and ugly. That would never come out of my mouth. I mean to me, I think you're pretty cute." Mercedes smiles. "Thanks." She blushes. She walks away to go to the hall because lunch was over.
